Tom Taylor, PGAHead Golf Professional Teaching the game of golf to all abilities has been a lifelong passion of Tom’s. He believes teaching is a partnership and he challenges each student to learn the fundamentals of their own swing. Tom believes that if each individual knows their abilities and weaknesses they can identify and improve their golf game with practice. Through a very calm and simple approach to instructing, Tom has helped many golfers in the Yampa Valley with their game. Aside from teaching, Tom enjoys competing throughout the state at the professional level and at a friendly game of skins.
Director of Instruction & Junior Golf, Assistant Golf Professional Andrew Donner returns to Haymaker for his fifth consecutive season and 10th overall bringing with him, his skill and passion of the game. As Director of Junior Golf and Head Golf Coach for the Steamboat Springs Sailors High School Golf program, Andrew’s focus is on player development for youth and adults alike; he is a well respected mentor by both young athletes and their parents. Andrew is a key person responsible for bringing the PGA Junior League to the Yampa Valley and co-captained the junior team that competed in the 2015 national semi-finals.
Mr. Donner has instructed golf at the Reserve Club in Palm Desert, CA and at the Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ. Andrew participated in various mini-tours in FL, CA and AZ while competing in regional and state opens and international competitions. Andrew worked in Bogota, Colombia for 6 years and is fluent in Spanish.
A familiar face at Haymaker, he is a strong player and instructor with an experienced and passionate background in the golf industry. Andrew is available for all levels of instruction.
Shawn’s love of golf stared at age five. His passion for the game has grown through the years; from junior golf to varsity high school competition, Shawn now enjoys teaching his wife and young children to play. He has worked at Red Rocks and Columbine Country Clubs in Denver.
He has significant professional golf experience and has worked at Red Rocks and Columbine Golf Clubs in Denver. Locally, Shawn enjoyed working for Catamount Ranch and Club in Steamboat Springs before joining the Haymaker team. Shawn is an apprentice in the PGA/PGM program and offers a superior level of service, knowledge and professionalism.
Tim DeverTim Dever was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. His passion for the game of golf began at an early age when he was introduced to the game at Callaway Gardens, one of Georgia’s premier golf resorts. Since that time Tim has developed into a strong player and a consummate promoter of the game. Tim understands that each player has his own unique swing and he will work with you to improve your game based on that fundamental principal. Tim is a firm believer in the game and the life lessons it teaches; he enjoys working with junior golfers.During the Winter season, Tim can often be seen at Mt. Werner working as a key employee for the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation. A current PGA apprentice Level 1 in the PGA/PGM program 2016 will be Mr. Dever’s second season at Haymaker.
.Scott Sperry joined the Haymaker team in 2015 and is a Colorado native originally from Colorado Springs. He learned to play golf at 3 years of age at Patty Jewett Golf course where his grandfather was Head Golf Professional, and now a Colorado Hall of Fame inductee. Mr. Sperry worked at Cordillera, then traveled and worked in Phuket, Thailand prior to joining the Haymaker staff. Scott is a very talented golfer and an Apprentice in the PGA/PGM program having passed his PAT in 2015. You will often see Scott working with junior golfers or groups and tournaments at Haymaker. Scott coached the Steamboat Springs High School development golf team last fall. Mr Sperry is a great addition to the golf professionals and inside staff alike at Haymaker Golf course.
