Tom Taylor
Head Golf Professional

Teaching the game of golf to all levels of players has been a passion of Tom's for many years. Having used many techniques to engage the student in learning the fundamentals of their own swing has been his focus for the past several years. Tom believes that if each individual knows their abilities and weaknesses they can identify and improve their golf game with practice. Using a very basic and calm approach to teaching his students, Tom has instructed many students in the Yampa Valley. Along with teaching Tom enjoys competitions throughout the state at many different levels. Tom is the Director of Golf for Haymaker.

Troy Weller

Assistant Golf Professional

In his first season at Haymaker Golf Club, Troy Weller brings a "Practical Golf"/ "Golf Simplified philosophy to the Haymaker teaching staff.  Troy was priviledged to start his teaching career with the John Jacobs' Golf Schools in Scottsdale, AZ where he spent seven years learning and growing as an Instructor.  I learned early on as an instructor that "we are teaching people, not teaching golf".  I believe that it is so important as an instructor to find out what goals a student has for themselves and how they learn most efficiently.   After determining those variables, I go through a three-step process of diagnosis, explanation, and correction.  My teaching centers around impact and how to improve our impact factors.  My personal goals are simple.  I embrace the challenge of improving as a player and hope to also improve as a teacher by surrounding myself around a great teaching staff here at the Haymaker Golf Course.
